Downloads stuck at 100% on all browsers

I was using the latest stable version of all of these browsers. While this does not seem like a bug in Processing or the website it seems like a bug in Windows or those browsers or something , it is a problem I expect a large number of your users will experience when trying to download and install Processing.

It is probably at least worth noting the issue near the download, and that it can be downloaded more easily with Firefox. The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:.

I had the same issues but not only downloading the Processing version 3. Sorry, something went wrong. Wow… just reproduced. It looks like it's the anti-malware service going nuts as it scans all the files in the download. After a minute or two it finally resolved for me. Essentially nobody will read a note on the download page, so we'll need a different approach.

Apparently this is a common issue in Windows 10 when downloading many types of programs. Since I reported this I have experienced it a few times with other unrelated downloads from different websites. So basically Microsoft has such a broken OS that it can no longer download stuff Anyway, I'm not really sure if this would actually help or not, but maybe if you add it to the Microsoft store it would download with less issues, or maybe it needs to be an MSI or something.

Apparently I was wrong about having the builtin to Windows antivirus turned off, it is actually on. I still find it strange that this is a problem in both Chromium based browsers and in Microsoft Edge, but not Firefox. Do other browsers work? Does the file ever actually finish downloading? Does reopening Opera temporarily fix the issue? Does this happen with any type of file and any file size? I find it very strange.

I would try in a private window and with a clean portable instance. That is correct though. The file is done downloading, it just doesn't finish in Opera and I can't load anything after that point until I restart the browser.

Other browsers work fine. The file is finished downloading from what I can tell. Nothing I do to opera fixes the issue. On restart it says that there are downloads that didn't complete and asks if I would like to restart them. It happens in private mode as well. I just went to download Opera portable as you suggested and the download finished.

To double check I also downloaded Eclipse and that finished too. I then attempted to download a photo from facebook and it locked up again. Wait for a few seconds then click the Resume button that replaced Pause. However, in some cases, it would go back to a lower percent. This would, of course, result in you waiting for a longer time, but it would still be worth it as it will solve the Chrome download stuck at issue.

This time, we will actually be closing Chrome altogether and open it again. Now under Applications , select Chrome then click End Task. Now select Chrome from the list and click the Force Quit option. It might be that a component of Chrome is messing with the download process. A great example of this is the cache which when overloaded, messes with lots of Chrome functions. This will take some time, but in the end, it will clear your cache so that corrupted temporary files would be deleted.

This time, we will be tweaking with Chrome extensions. Extensions are basically functions that can expand the existing features of Chrome. It is most helpful, but sometimes it can be harmful. Disabling extensions can have huge consequences, but so is installing extensions. That said, we suggest being careful when getting extensions as it may lead to more severe issues than Chrome download stuck at By now, you should already know the Incognito Mode that exists in every browser. It is a state of the browser wherein data is not saved automatically and some extensions are disabled.

You may also choose New incognito window from the three vertical dots icon. Instead, it might be that Chrome is the problem altogether. You have tons of options to configure Chrome if the entire program is the problem.

The first is to update it, reset its settings, or reinstall it. To update Chrome and solve the Chrome download stuck at issue, you simply have to follow these steps:. In that case, you only have the option to reset the settings of Chrome. Resetting the settings of Chrome would solve most issues, be it minor or major. To do this, you will use the Settings page again. On the left side, click on the Advanced option. Then, select Reset and clean up. From the options, select Restore settings to their original defaults.

There should be a confirmation message. Click Reset settings if the option presents itself. But of course, you have to uninstall it first. The process is different in Mac and Computer. To uninstall a program in Mac, just go to the Applications folder, then drag Chrome to the Trash. There will be a list of options here. Locate and right-click on Google Chrome, then select Uninstall. Once you uninstalled the program, just download it again by going to this link.

We also suggest downloading an older version, if that is possible. That is because older versions tend to be safer and more bug-free. This is most likely the doing of your antivirus program. More particularly, your antivirus program might be interfering with the Chrome download. The previous section discussed ways to solve the issue with Chrome download stuck at on a computer. Now, what if it happened on your mobile device. Fortunately, we have another set of solutions. First of all, you have to first check if your internet connection is actually stable enough to support downloading.

After all, you might go to the trouble of fixing the problem on Chrome when in reality, it is just that your internet sucks. To check your signal, you can use a network connection checker. You may also improve your connection by resetting it through your Settings.
