Some scientists think the nebula's intricate structures suggest it is a double-star system. What we are now witnessing is a a rare celestial phenomenon called a supernova. Brace yourself for it is literally the explosion of most of the material in a star, resulting in an extremely bright, short-lived object that emits vast amounts of energy. Located , light- years away in the Large Magellanic Cloud, the remnants of Supernova resemble a one- light-year-wide pearl necklace.
These bright spots are pieces of debris shed thousands of years ago and illuminated by the shock wave when the star exploded. The two bright objects that look like car headlights are a pair of stars in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Measurements made by astronauts tell us that there is more matter in our galaxy.
Quasars are the most brightest, most distant and fastest moving objects visible outside the milky way galaxy. Thousands of these are known for their bright swirling cauldron of hot gasses each emitting a huge amount of energy.

The most compelling of the views is perhaps the picture of the Earth viewed not too far from the edges of the solar system where the blue planet is no more significant than a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam. The epic trip to the edge of the cosmos begins in the local neighborhood of the solar system. From then on the documentary takes on a whirlwind of spectacles from nearby stars to nebulae, galaxies and black holes, pulsars and quasars.
Admittedly, it is impossible to depict the overarching immensity of the universe and everything in it including time on the finite screen of a television set. We can see that it is a deadly vista to explore and filled with wonderous hazards that we can only imagine how deadly it might be. Still it is all an incredible learning experience, if we are smart enough realise it. We should give up on wasting billions of dollars on space exploration and instead, spend it on improving life on earth and on protecting and preserving our environment. What a fantastic documentary.
